Hello, I’m Carolyn, a multidisciplinary artist, multi-genre writer, and Creative Strategist.

In my own work, I’m constantly exploring artistic mediums. Since I didn’t go to art school, I’m frequently learning how to work with new materials, often inventing my own ways of approaching a medium. My writing experience and practice is versatile; my works vary from essay to narrative, memoir to fiction, and prose to poetry. 

My practice as an artist and writer includes engagement with and adaptation to common obstacles creatives encounter, resulting in continuous uninhibited production. I don’t subscribe to notions of scarcity and austerity. My approach is spirited by abundance and play. 

My understanding of the creative process, as well as the knowledge, experience, and skills I have gained through my own practice, contribute to the success of my work as a Creative Strategist. In this role I work with other creatives to generate, refine, and complete projects by providing feedback, editing, planning, brainstorming, and by teaching executive functioning strategies so that their time is used efficiently and their work gets completed by deadline. My clients include screenwriters, novelists, journalists, creative directors, copywriters, and also visual artists seeking conceptual critique, statement feedback, or visual coherence. 

I received my PhD from the New School for Social Research. For over 10 years I worked in academia, teaching philosophy, writing, and logic.
